WACO, Texas – Thursday, May 29, 2025 – As part of its ongoing efforts to model fiscal responsibility and sustainable practices, Waco ISD will host a quick liquidation auction to repurpose furniture, equipment, and other surplus items from the former Waco High School campus. The auction, organized by Clark Auction Company, offers community members the chance to own a piece of local educational history while supporting the district’s forward-looking mission.
The former Waco High School building, now vacated as students and staff transition into the new state-of-the-art campus, once served thousands of learners over generations. As Waco ISD makes space for the future, the district remains committed to honoring the past by ensuring that usable resources find new purpose in the community.
“This is more than an auction—it’s a way to directly support the programs that shape WISD,” said Waco ISD Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer. “By repurposing what we no longer need, we’re reinforcing our values: sustainability, stewardship, and a relentless focus on supporting student achievement through smart, forward-thinking decisions.”
The auction will include items such as student desks, shelving units, chairs, and instructional equipment. These materials, while no longer needed in their current setting, can still serve a valuable role in homes, businesses, and community organizations. Proceeds from the auction will go back into the district to support future needs, further advancing Waco ISD’s investment in academic spaces that inspire innovation and growth.
Updates on the auction date and participation details will be posted on the Waco ISD website at www.wacoisd.org and the Clark Auction Company site at https://cacwaco.com.
Waco ISD remains committed to ensuring every decision—big or small—moves the district closer to its goal of creating equitable, engaging, and excellent learning environments for all students.
